Many later artists, including the Flemish master Peter Paul Rubens, drew significant inspiration from earlier Renaissance painters. In 'The Massacre of the Innocents,' we can see this influence in his representation of the human form. However, the scene depicted is far more dramatic and dynamic, showcasing the intense movement and emotional intensity that are hallmarks of Rubens' work and the Baroque period in general.
