A fun fact about Camille Pissarro, who is often cited as the 'father of Impressionism', is that he was the only painter from the Impressionist group to exhibit at all of the 'Impressionist Exhibitions'. Between 1874 and 1886 there were eight exhibitions, with a total of 58 artists represented (not all of them Impressionists).
