The Seine by Henry Ossawa Tanner

The Seine
Henry Ossawa Tanner
c. 1902
Oil on canvas
Impressionism

Supposedly an impromptu study from his stay in Paris. Although he spent much of his career in France, Henry Ossawa Tanner was in fact an american impressionist, and the first african-american painter to gain international acclaim.
