The Burning House of Lords and Commons by J.M.W. Turner

J.M.W. Turner innovated the Romantic style with his dramatic lighting. Two great examples of this, are the paintings of 'The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons'. The paintings recount the historic event, where the House of Parliament went up in flames on 16th of October 1834.
