Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec is an extremely interesting and important figure in the history of art. Eventhough he was born into aristocracy, his life was not an easy one. Due to a rare genetic condition and the fact that he broke both his legs early in life, his growth stopped at 1.52 m. As an adult, his mental and physical health deteriorated due to his life-style in the Parisian bohème, frequenting nightclubs and brothels, and he died at the age of 36 due to complications from his alcohol abuse and syphilis.
