The Ballet Class by Edgar Degas

Edgar Degas was part of the group who founded Impressionism towards the end of the 1800's. Although the Impressionists are famous for their innovative representation of light, Degas was also a master of representing movement in his pieces. His series of paintings of dancers, which comprises more than half of his works, provides proof.
