Mount Sainte-Victoire by Paul Cézanne

Mount Sainte-Victoire
Paul Cézanne
1904
Oil on canvas
Post-Impressionism
Philadelphia Museum of Art

One of my favorite paintings by one of my favorite painters. Cézanne is famous for his innovative landscape techniques, and Montagne Sainte-Victoire was one of his biggest sources of inspiration, with more than 60 works depicting the mountain in southern France. The ability to both provide depth and flatness to the landscape at the same time is incredible.
