Munchmuseet
There are six different versions of this motif, painted by the famous Norwegian Expressionist Edvard Munch. While it has become famous under the name 'Vampire', it was actually not Munch who named it so. Seeing the painting exhibited, the critic Stanisław Przybyszewski noted that it looked like a man caught in the blood-sucking embrace of a vampire. Munch's original title for the work was 'Love and Pain', with both titles being well-fitting for such an emotional intense expressionist piece.
