Anders Zorn was a prominent Swedish painter whose talent earned him international acclaim. Working with a famously limited palette—Lead White, Yellow Ochre, Vermilion, and Ivory Black—he achieved remarkable realism in both portraits of eminent figures and scenes from daily life in Dalarna, Sweden. Among his many distinguished sitters were the Swedish king and queen, and no less than three American presidents: Grover Cleveland, William H. Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt.
