In extension of yesterday's post, the Ukiyo-e style inspired European painters such as Monet, Degas, and van Gogh. Vincent van Gogh even wrote in a letter to his brother Theo "All my work is based to some extent on Japanese art...". This painting of a blossoming almond tree is a beautiful example of the inspiration Ukiyo-e had on van Gogh's style, with its light, pastel colors and thick contrast lines.
