Often referred to as the 'Mother of American Modernism', Georgia O'Keeffe developed a unique style of painting, independent of the established art movements of her time. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and her paintings' subjects often consists of flowers, bones, skulls, shells and desert landscapes, in a beautiful blend of abstraction and representation.
